I have always been interested in the ethereal, either in visual art or music – allowing for escape into a world of beauty from the everyday mundane. Inspired by natural forms, astronomy, and many other things I find beautiful, I have worked for many years to create my own visual language. It is through this language that I aim to ask the viewer insert their own meaning, responding intuitively to the motifs, just as I do. The building of this language on the surface allows me to respond to successes and mistakes until I “see” the completed painting, allowing some sort of visceral experience to tell me when a work is completed.
